We know how challenging it can be for Scout groups to deliver the Digital Maker badge—especially when access to enough technology for a full section is limited. Trying to organise laptops, devices, and reliable internet for a large group can quickly become a barrier.
That’s where we come in...
At 14th Walthamstow, we’re proud to offer a fully equipped space designed to make delivering the Digital Maker badge simple, engaging, and stress-free.
Groups hiring our hall will have access to:
A large 65” interactive touch screen – perfect for demonstrations and group learning.
20 laptops ready to use.
20 Micro:bit modules for hands-on coding and digital making activities.
Fast, reliable internet access.
A secure, filtered, classroom-style managed network for safe learning.
Everything is set up to support structured sessions, so you can focus on delivering the badge—not troubleshooting tech.
We understand that not every leadership team feels confident delivering digital skills sessions—and that’s absolutely fine.
As well as providing the space and equipment, we can also lead the sessions for you. Our team can deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities covering Digital Maker Stages 1, 2, and 3, helping your young people complete their badge in a fun and interactive way.
Alternatively, you’re very welcome to run the sessions yourselves using our facilities—whatever works best for your group.
In addition to the main hall, we also offer a dedicated training room—ideal for smaller group activities or breakout sessions.
This space includes:
Desks for focused work
A display screen
A connected computer
Space for 4 to 5 young people
Perfect for splitting groups or running more targeted sessions alongside the main activity.
Photo taken during Cubs "TV Studio" night.
We can host evening or weekend sessions, making it easy to fit around your programme.
Suitable for Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers
Sessions available for Digital Maker Stage 1, 2, and 3 (run as separate sessions)
Capacity for groups of up to 30 young people
We recommend allowing a minimum of 1 hour 30 minutes for a session. For a more in-depth experience with fuller coverage of the badge requirements, 2 hours is ideal.
If you’re interested in booking a session or would like to find out more, we’d love to hear from you.
